Alienation

A lot of teenagers in high school feel just like Melinda does in the book. I know someone who is bullied almost everyday at his school. He's too scared to tell an adult, because he knows it will only make things worse. He has had times where he has thought about just running away so he wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. I talked him into staying, because you can't really run away from problems in life. It doesn't solve anything.
